FAQ
What causes ED?
There are many different causes, but ED ultimately occurs when there is too little blood flow into the penis and too much blood flow out, partially due to an enzyme called PDE5. Causes can include cardiovascular disease, smoking, alcohol and drug use, diabetes, depression and obesity, among others.
Can ED be treated?
There are a number of different treatments available in the market today including oral medications and testosterone injections. Medications vary in dosage and how long they work. Our providers will explain the risks and benefits of each treatment and consider your preferences.
Are there side effects related to ED treatment?
Possible side effects include flushing, nasal congestion, headache, visual changes, backache and upset stomach.
I’ve tried Viagra and Cialis, but they don’t work. Can you help?
Yes – Total Men’s Primary Care has other treatment options, such as ICP which often works for men, even when oral medication doesn’t.
