COVID-19 FAQ

Most cases in adults include mild symptoms, similar to those of the flu. These cases can be safely managed from home. The most common symptoms of COVID-19 is fever (a temperature over 100.4F or 38.0C), followed by cough and shortness of breath. These symptoms can be accompanied by body aches, fatigue, nausea and congestion.
At least 80% of cases are mild and similar to the flu. Children seem to have even milder symptoms and tolerate the illness better than adults.

An antigen test is a nasal swab and tells you if you have a current COVID-19 infection. An antibody test is a blood test and it reveals if you’ve previously had the virus. Both tests are offered at Total Men’s to new and existing patients.

Yes. We have worked over the past year to be the first healthcare system in Texas to gain access to FDA-authorized tests for our centers in Austin, DFW, and San Antonio.

COVID-19 is spread like other common viruses which cause a cold or the flu. This is typically via small droplets that are spread when an infected person sneezes or coughs.
Being within close proximity to an infected person for a prolonged period of time (usually within 6 feet for 10 minutes) can put you at a higher risk of infection.

Simple measures such as routine hand washing (soap and water for 20 seconds or use of a 60% or greater alcohol-based hand sanitizer), avoiding touching your face and covering your cough or sneeze are helpful at reducing transmission. Due to limited supply, only persons with symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 should wear masks to help cover coughs and sneezes.

If you are experiencing fever, cough, or shortness of breath, chances are that you have a common cold or flu, but it is possible you have COVID-19. Your chances of having COVID-19 would increase significantly if you’ve been in close contact (spending at least 10 minutes together within 6 feet) with a person who has been confirmed to have COVID-19.
